Hi, Veronica! Definitely try to choose plants that are acclimated to your hot and dry temperature. There are tons of ideas for growing drought and heat resistant plants, and your garden can still be lovely. Good luck!

I want to spend time doing something relaxing and I grew up watching my mother in her garden for hours and everything she planted flourished. She has since passed on but I want to create a beautiful garden in my backyard sanctuary in her memory. I am a novice to gardening and I live in the California high desert to boot. Everything that I have planted thus far has been a challenge because of the extreme temperatures. Wish me luck…
